f8 Photo Shots offer a professional, personalised and confidential portrait photography service ranging from a conventional portrait shoot, a friend's two person photo shoot to a Boudoir photo shoot.
Your portrait photo shoot gives you a CD of selected images and prints which have been carefully edited, airbrushed and retouched. The full retouching 'Photoshop' treatment to your images allows us to tuck you in, push you out and smooth skin to perfection.
Your finished images can be given to your partner as a wedding, anniversary or birthday gift or you can have them taken just for you, to indulge yourself and do what you always wanted, but never quite got round to it!
Your photo shoot can be at my studio or, subject to suitability, in your own home or on location.
Having photographed many people I realise that personal customers may not be used to posing in front of a camera and I will give you all the encouragement, direction and support in photo shoot you need and although you may feel nervous to begin with I am confident that nerves will disappear when I show you the results as the session progresses.
When you contact me, you may simply want a head and shoulders portrait. But I can do much more than that in the time we have available, so please give some thought to variations, even if this is just a change of clothing or background colour. And be aware that a portrait need not be a head and shoulders shot but can also be up to full length and include other subject matter that is important to the sitter. I can, if you wish, provide you with a 'Boudoir Photography' session of tasteful and sensual glamour photographs and details of this are included on our 'Boudoir Photography' page.
All you have to do is decide what you want, what to wear and how you want to be photographed. You can then leave the technical stuff to us. We want you to be relaxed, comfortable and enjoy your experience.

Your Portrait session
Because we are all different, there is nothing like a routine portrait session and because your photographs are as important to us as they are to you, we will take every care to produce the photographs you want. To help us do this, we only book one session per day and you will be our only customer on that particular day!
Your photo session starts by discussing your photographic aspirations. We like to discuss your ideas for a portrait and get to know you as an individual. We cannot make you look like a different person but we do want to capture the person you are. To do this we want to know as much as we can about you and what you want from your photo session. We can also look at any pictures you have collected that show us what photography you want and consider the clothes you have selected to wear - so bringing a selection is quite important!
If you have decided to have a professional make up this will follow our discussion. In addition, some time may also be required to allow for any skin marks to disappear from wearing tight clothing, if that is required as part of the session.
When you are ready you will spend the agreed period in front of camera and include as many outfit changes as you can manage. We will also provide complimentary drinks and snacks to ensure your comfort throughout your session.
Ideas for your Portrait
Please have a look around our web site for some ideas where you will find pictures of both amateur and professional models. Some pictures are of friends and people who just wanted to have a picture taken or have the experience of modelling.
Alternatively you may see a picture in a magazine, newspaper or even the internet that inspires you. These are referred to as tear sheets. So, if you see something, get a copy and let’s have a look to see if we can ‘put you in the picture’ so to speak.
Portraiture is not restricted to a studio type environment. It can be in your home or even a completely new location – subject to its suitability and our cost being met. So please use your imagination and remember - talking to me at f8 Photo Shots about your ideas is completely free.

Friend’s photo shoot: Why not use a Portrait photo shoot with a friend or partner? Each person can model in a studio environment indivually or together in whatever way they choose.
Your security: For security and peace of mind we can provide a chaperon at all sessions if you require one. Aternatively you may bring a friend with you.
